1979 Sundance Yellow W72 4 speed Trans Am

This auction is for a rare PHS documented Sundance yellow W72 4 speed Trans Am. This car is optioned just like the PHS shows with PS, PB, AC, WS6, PW, Tilt, t-tops, PT, deluxe black cloth interior, am-fm radio, W72/L78 400 Pontiac engine W/4 speed BW trans and 3.23 disc brake posi rear axle.

This car (according to the buildsheet) was bought new by  Pontiac Motor Division zone office. It was used as an executive car and not invoiced until the 1980 model year. This car is also unique as the buildsheet showed it had charcoal graphics and Wheels, yet Sundance yellow cars were supposed to come with either gold or red/orange graphics/wheels. This car is quite possibly a 1 of 1 color combo when combined with the W72 WS6 option packages.

Interior is deluxe black Hobnail, seats are excellent, plastics are excellent, headliner and dash are both in good condition.

PWH coded Engine has been rebuilt. it has been balanced, arp bolts, (rods, mains, heads) mild cam, 6X heads reworked/rebuilt with minor gasket matching, headers, duals, flowmasters, new hoses, belts, engine compartment detailed when engine was out. Engine has very few miles on it, I have owned this car for almost 5 years yet never ever even tagged it to be driven. It has been a long term project that just mainly gets driven in and out of the garage, and maybe an occasional spin around the block.

Under car is clean and solid, nice floors, trunk, rear body panel, inner quarters ect. This is a solid southern/western car.

Trunk has new mat, t-top bags are in good shape, original trim tag in place, everything is just as listed on the PHS. I also have the buildsheet for this car.

Ok....more pics, here is a large pic of the buildsheet, it shows it was sold to the Dallas TX Pontiac Zone Office, the PHS show it was invoiced to Schneider Gilbert Pontiac in El Paso TX in September 1979. here is the jack, the spare, the mileage, and the car under the harsh lights of my shop. and....if you really want to know how the car runs and sounds....here is a low res video on youtube and here is a higher res video (dial up beware) HERE. This is the first time I ever got out and ran this car hard, and I can honestly say the tires are no match for the engine....The car runs, drives and stops great, the doors open and close as new, no creaks, rattles generally associated with  your average wore out abused Trans Am.
